Brian C. Harrington

I have practiced law in St. Petersburg, Florida, handling cases throughout Florida, as well as other states including North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Colorado, since the mid seventies.  My family moved to Florida when I was a year old, and I went to school on the West Coast of Florida until my law school years at the University of Notre Dame Law School, located in cold dreary South Bend Indiana.  While at Notre Dame, I had the privilege of  captaining the championship Bookstore Basketball tournament  team for 1974, a rather fabled outdoor basketball tournament played in the Spring rains, sleet and often snow of South Bend.  I hurried back to the warmth and sunshine of Florida upon graduation.

I spent eight years as an active Army Reserve officer with the 320th MP Company, in St. Petersburg, began raising a family (three very energetic and athletic daughters) as well as involving myself in various outdoor  athletic trials as well, including week long bicycle trips in the Colorado Rockies, running, swimming, biking, and participating in Triathlons.  As a result of my cycling/triathloning, I’ve developed a sub specialty in my legal practice representing people struck by vehicles while riding their bicycles, or while running/exercising.

My civic involvement has included an extended time on the Board of Directors for the local Ronald McDonald house; officer on the Board for the St. Petersburg Bar Association; long time executive committee member, and  for two years the Race Director for the St. Anthony’s Triathlon, and now am the announcer for this world renowned event; current two term member of the national Board of Directors for USA Triathlon, representing the Florida District; currently serving as well as Vice President of the Board.  USA Triathlon is the National Governing Body  for the sport of Triathlon under the U.S. Olympic Committee.

My Current additional avocation is announcing outdoor sporting events, specifically triathlons and running events, announcing  a dozen or more such events each year, primarily on the Florida West Coast.

I enjoy my legal practice, and plan to continue actively practicing law in my specialty fields for many years to come.
